Mike Casano is a drummer, producer, writer, educator and DJ based in New England. Mike graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2000 and has since performed with The Drifters, Keegan-Michael Key, Uzo Aduba, Randy Brecker, Victor Wooten, Mike Mainieri, George Garzone, Ellis Hall, GQ & The Lady, Brass Force, Chas West, Katrin, Frank Tiberi, Linda Calise, Myanna, Mark Love, Grover & CGI, Scott Tarulli, Christine Fawson, Jen Murdza, and the New England Philharmonic. Mike is also a full-service DJ and emcee, with experience providing entertainment for all occasions. Mike was featured in DRUM! magazine and has written articles for Modern Drummer magazine. Mike provides online instructional content through his Barn Drummer™ website. Mike and his father, Joe Casano, lead a jazz big band called Mike & Joe’s Big Band. He also leads his own jazz/fusion group (Mike Casano Fusion) and produces original neo-soul music (My Key C “We Got This” and “Play That Game”). Over the years, Mike has opened up for Brandi Carlile and Blood Sweat & Tears and has played live on tv and radio in Boston. He has helped write the theme songs for the Ronnie Mund Block Party (Howard Stern) and the Planet Mikey Show (WEEI sports radio; podcast). Mike has over 22 years of experience teaching private and group lessons, percussion ensembles, marching band drumlines, jazz rhythm section clinics and master classes.
